Vintage at the Village Hall
Last Monday morning Blandford Forum Corn Exchange was converted into a treasure trove of vintage delights for Fab Fairs ‘Vintage at the Village Hall’. Festooned with bunting inside and out the Corn Exchange looked truly charming and Elaine, the fairs much praised and ever-enthusiastic organiser had done a spectacular job of sourcing a diverse yet well matched mix of stall holders and dealers. Beautifully faded patterned textiles and vintage china jostled for space next to all manor of handmade crafts, unusual decorative antiques and reclaimed furniture. We were in heaven.
The stallholders were a mix of local, Dorset based craft makers and more seasoned dealers who travel the circuit of antique and vintage fairs across the country. Fairs such as these are the perfect place for us to find unusual products for The Squash Court home store. We love that mix of old and new and always aim to fill our home store with a combination of classic and quirky pieces.

MaryJane Lillie’s hand made felt animals were simply the sweetest things we’d seen, we couldn’t help but buy a few to add to our felt animal collection in the shop!
Vintage linens are perfect as cushion covers, loose covers for old sofas or chairs or even simply used as table cloths or bed spreads.
After a morning of rummaging, discovering, and catching up with old friends from the antique circuit we headed back to Deans Court with a car boot full of finds and spent a blissful afternoon sorting everything out and filling the home store with our new vintage pieces.
